was on serquil 2 yrs??

was on 100mgs of serquil for 2 yrs..had to stop them they were  raising my heart rate to 90 b.p.m. at  rest..my norm is 60 at rest..so now i cant take them...i haven't been sleeping that good at all....do take 2mgs total aday..0.5 mgs4 aday.....the serqyil use to help me sleep good..i dont know what happened?? was in the e.r. last week heart rate went to 140 b.p.m...the er said everything came back good...i haven't had any increase in heart rate since stopped them....waiting for my docky to come in Monday....WHY WOUL THIS MAKE MY HEART RATE GO UP???    THANKS ALL.....

can i ask what you were taking it for? serequil (spelling)? does have many side effects. my brother in law takes it and it's the only med he's taken that helps him and he's tried almost everything. sometimes side effects of meds don't start showing up until your on them for awhile, that's happened to me more than once. what about cutting you dose in half? of course ask your dr. first. i was on effexor for 5 years and then all of a sudden i started having severe heart palps and my anxiety went through the roof as well as my blood pressure. i had to quit taking it and start a new med. i think that maybe what's going on with you, it's ran it's course. only your dr. can say for sure though. let us know what the dr. says and take care. remar
