I have had the same issues on and off with various antidepressants, but I found a way to combat this weight fluctuation.

You need to completly eliminate any and all foods that contain white flour. On top of that you also need to eliminate all Carbohydrates except for complex carbohydrates.

Most food products made from white flour cause a sharp spike in insulin levels. When this happens the bodies reaction is to convert this into fat.
Same goes for simple carbs like white potatoes and white rice.

Also watch your fruit intake. Fruit contains fructose which the body converts into fat very fast. Fruit sounds healthy, but too much can cause weight gain.

You can still loose weight while on any Psychotropic meds. The key is exersise and food choices. You don't have to starve yourself either.

I take Protriptilyne, lamictal, Klonopin, and Lithium 900Mgs a day. This is what some would call "asking to get fat."

In 6 months I went from 230Lbs to 175Lbs and added 20 Lbs of solid muscle.
I did this with weights, supplimentation, and dumping foods that cause fat.

I even eat some fatty foods too. because you see fats like oil, butter, bacon, beef fat, and such don't make you fat. Yes they are high in calories, but they don't convert into body fat like carbs do. I even put whole Mayo on my tuna. It's just fat and not a carb.

Eat lots of steak, beef, chicken, turkey, tuna, even pork or any meet. Combine them with vegitables and maybe a small side of a complex carb like brown rice or a fresh baked yam. Eliminate fruit and juice. To get vitimins missing from fruit, take a good multi-vitimin.

Also buy a large container of proteen powder. mix one large scoop with 8 oz skim milk and drink in morning for brekfast. It will give your muscle the proteen it needs with no carb intake. Muscle burns fat so the more muscle you grow, the more fat you burn.

If you want some carbs, then eat wheat pasta, or whole grain crackers. I put Tuna on whole grain crackers. These are complex carbs and do not cause insulin spike.

Obviosly NO sugar at all. It is instanty converted into fat.

Eat the right food and you can pig out on them and still loose weight. No need to go hungry.

Do a Google search for a list of complex carbohydrate foods. This will give you all the choices you have regarding carbs.
