weight gain on meds

I have  heard that two of my medications can cause weight gain, seroquel and lithium. Have you experienced weight gain while on these meds? Thank you.

All currently available antipsychotics can cause weight gain. Abilify is the least likely but it still can happen. I did not have that much of a problem on Seroquel. Lithium did cause weight gain in me and I found Lamictal much tolerable in that regard. When medications increase your appetite don't give into it and overeat and don't have any beverages with added sugar (avoid Nutrasweet because it can make depression worse, flavored seltzer water is best) and if you have a problem with weight gain at that point you can speak to your psychiatrist more at that time. See what happens.
