I agree with LALEAH. If you are not currently seeing a psychiatrist then I urge you to make an appointment with one. They are the most skilled at treating depression/anxiety. They will know better which medications are most likely going to work for you and your symtpoms.
Take care!
There is no best medicine for depression. It is all based upon different symptoms, chemicals, body chemistry, etc. A lot of time it is trial and error. I have been on most meds switching either because one stopped working, bad side effects or they didn't work. This with combinations of meds over time. Trial and error. But you need to insist that your doctor change your medication. I felt that way on Cymbalta and the withdrawl was almost worse than being on the drug. But others love it. Regardless, you must give a clear reason of what is happening, specific feelings/side effects and INSIST that you want a change. There are many other meds out there and one will work. Check the internet for 'medications for depression' and do your research. Ask your doctor why he/she is prescribing a particular type of medication. Learn to understand why certain drugs are prescribed for what symptoms. Keep a journel of your feelings and take it to your doctor as well as using it to record different meds and your reactions. Please see your doctor right away!!!!! If you feel like you are desperate don't hesitate to call an emergency crisis line. They may ask to call you back to see if you are okay, but will value your privacy. They are there to help. Take care and write back what has happened.
