Hello,

Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Treatment consists of topical and oral antifungals.Like for eg(selsen shampoo but not selsen blue),ketoconazole(nizoral shampoo), clotrimazole, miconazole or terbinafine etc.Severe cases may need oral antifungals. Recurrence is prevented by intermittent application of topical agents (such as tea tree oil) or adding a small amount of anti-dandruff shampoo to water used for bathing.

Hope it helps .Take care and pls do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
