lump of finger

Hi. Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read over my post, I hope someone can help/provide some insight into this.

Around 2 months ago, I noticed a sort of raised lump/bump on my right index finger (middle knuckle area).. At first I thought it may have been a spot or blister or something, but when i tried to burst it with a pin, it was just skin.. raised bump/lump with no fluids, just skin...

Anyway, I went to the docs, he said it was probably a wart.. He wouldnt freeze it off for me so I got some over the counter stuff..None have worked, the top ofthe lump will peel off for sure, but the remainder of the affected area stays and just re-heals over the top so Im back at square one.. I went to see another doc and he said i should go see a dermatologist.. ive got an appointment with one next week, but thought id ask here anyway if anyone could give some insight into what this is.. cause its really anoying.

I've taken a few pics, their not great, but should illustrate the basic situation I have.. If you need any more info please ask and thanks again for taking the time:

The pictures are fuzzy.  This does not look like a wart, though.  It also doesn't look like anything at all serious.  If you've been poking and prodding it, please stop, as it will confuse the dermatologist.  This is unlikely to require any treatment but waiting.

Best.
