psoriasis hiv

by montreal1970, Dec 25, 2007 09:33PM
I have psoriasis on the genitals. I had sex with an escort (prostitute), but I used a condom. After a week of exposure, I had a cold fever, but not like Flu. There was sore throat, but no running nose. I had fever around 99 F. The fever lasted for 3 days.
In 2 days after exposure, I developed rashes all over my body, on my trunk, back, arms and armpits, thighs, seemed to be another form of Psoriasis. Even after 2 weeks, the rashes and itching (sometimes burning) is still there. Also, my existing psoriasis is showing significant resistance. They usually went away with my ointment, but now they do not. I understand that viral infections aggravate psoriasis.

Should I go for a HIV test? Is there any other viral STD that I might have got?

I think it's more likely that you have a flare of psoriasis caused by a virus or perhaps a strep infection than that this has anything to do with your sexual exposure or any STD for that matter.  I suggest that you consult with your dermatologist, both for proper diagnosis and for for better control.

Take care.

if you had protected sex, you can not get HIV.

My concern is that I had it for a week, and the psoriasis rashes was a little different from my usual scaled psoriais. It was small granular all over the body, and itched a lot. After one week, even without any additional treatment, it is now gone.

Even though, I used condoms, I am not sure if I used it properly. As my genitals are affected by psoriasis, I am concerned that some of the bodily fluid on top of condom might have spit on the psoriatic lesions.
Also, after 2 days of contact, I had a severe headache and felt like throwing out, when I was in a restaurant. I felt so bad that, I had to leave the table and did not eat the dinner. But, after sleeping , I completely recovered, even though the rashes were there.
