2 yr old itchy palm

My two yr old daughter has been experiencing itchiness on one palm.  She will even try to use my nails to scratch it.  The palm looks normal, no redness, dryness, bumps or flaking skin.  I have seen her wake during the night rubbing her palms together or rubbing her palm on her clothes or sheets.  It seems to be just the one hand.  She doesn't see her pediatrician until May and kinda feel silly to take her in for this.  Any help would be appreciated!

It can be due to contact dermatitis or eczema. However take a look at the web spaces in between the fingers. If there are small bite like lesions then scabies is an important possibility. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
