24 hour rash

Hi,
I had a sore throat for 3 days about 8-9 days ago, felt a bit feverish with chills for 24 hours maybe. 2 day's ago, 8-9 days after the onset of the sore throat I noticed a non-itchy, red rash on both legs just above the knee's, which subsided the next day, about 24 hours in total. The rash was bumpy but I checked all over and it was nowhere but on my legs, just above each knee.

Anyone have a clue what this could be? I'm a little worried, I always do when ever I notice something different.
I thought at first that it could be Hives, but from what I've read Hives tend to be itchy, so I've no idea.

Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.

It's completely gone now, I was just a little worried when I saw the rash.

Is it quite common to get a rash after a viral infection? Plus you stated hives are itchy, can they be non-itchy aswell?

Thank you for the reply.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This rash could be due to hives which can occur after a viral infection. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.

Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. You can apply a mild steroid cream and take some antihistaminics.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
