AHA's and BHA's

by Azonic, Sep 26, 1999 12:00AM
I've heard and AHA's and BHA's when incorporated into a facial wash, especially the B acid variety can clear acne in weeks, as these acids penetrate through the sebum and clean the skin from the inside out? Whats your experience of these and can you reccomend any good products?

Thanks, Azonic eagerly awaiting your reply :)

Azonic:

The alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids, though loudly touted by their makers, are of only modest benefit in controlling acne.  There are dozens of alternatives, with differences among them too subtle to make a secure recommendation.  They're harmless enough, but to get real benefit for your acne, you're going to need antibacterial or other medication.

Best.
