ANXIETY MAXED OUT

Regardless of what I have been told and negative HIV tests at 5 & 9 weeks that Dr. H.H.H. say are in fact conclusive, I am still agonizing over all of this; And it is a rash that I got that has sent me into a tailspin for the last 3 months.

Approximately 10 days after unprotected vaginal intercourse, I developed a deep dark red rash on each of my inner groins. The rash was about the size of the palm of my hand & again on each thigh(inner).

The next day I noticed a rash (blotchy) on each of my inner forearms. Both rashe went away in 2-3 days

I had no rashes on face, eyelids, or trunk of body which is described in Acute HIV infection; however other areas can include arms, legs, hands & feet as also described.

And then several days after that, my palms started itching something fierce. And then a week after the itching subsided, the skin of my palms and soles of my feet started to peel and peeled completely.

I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with a viral infection, but he(Dr.) insisted it was not due to HIV. I insisted it was and demanded an HIV test. This was at 5 weeks.

So I have had a 5 Week & 9 week negative HIV test which most experts say are conclusive & definitive.

I read on of your threads during my search and read that in one peeling hands & feet incident, you said it was an extensive VIRAL INFECTION...

So of course my question to you is; and you can be honest as I still believe I am HIV POZ...

1.)Does what I have described sound like any Viral Infection other than HIV that you have ever heard of? and if so;What?

2.) To your knowledge, have you ever heard of Acute HIV infection doing this to anybody?

3.) Is it possible for Acute HIV to cause this?

I can understand why you were worried about HIV, but not why you're still worried after your doctor's reassurance plus negative tests.  There are lots of viruses in the world, most of them without names, that can cause rashes like the one you described, plus peeling etcetera.  Which one it was doesn't matter, except to say it wasn't HIV, which the tests have shown it wasn't.  My advice is to check the HIV once more in 2 months (just to reassure yourself yet again), and of course to avoid unprotected intercourse, to avoid both anxiety and disease.
