Accutane side effects

by Adit, Jun 02, 2003 12:00AM

About 10 days ago I had 2 hyperpigmented spots removed by laser
treatment. I have noticed that a brown circling has formed around the part where the skin has not grown back. Is this normal in the healing process for skin regeneration? I am concerned because I have been on accutane for about 3.5 months, and I am wondering if this may be causing the hyperpigmentation in the skin.

Thank You.

Accutane can slow healing a bit, but a noninvasive laser procedure like treating brown spots shouldn't be a problem.  Sometimes this treatment does cause superficial blistering which can darken for a while.  I advise you to ask the doctor who treated you, who might recommend a lightening cream.

Best.
