Hi,
Accutane is the brand name of "Isotretinoin". Isotretinoin is a type of medication used to treat severe acne (nodlo cystic or nodular acne) which have failed to respond to other treatments including any type of oral antibiotics and topical application creams. Accutane is strong medicine for acne cure but can have serious side effects.
Before begining treatment with Accutain, an individual should discuss about his condition with the health care provider for the possible accutane benefits and side effects in order to get it clear whether the treatment is right.
Accutain is used in the treatment of the severest of acne cases which haven't responded to all other types of acne treatments. The Food and Drug Administration implied consent form because of the accutaine lawsuits that the patients filed who suffered serious accutane caused side effects which they told to be unaware of at the time they started the treatment. The general public remains misinformed about Accutane's potential dangers as well as its benefits.
Dosage and duration of acne treatment wit Accutaine depends upon the severity of the patient’s acne. Normally the treatment last for about sixteen weeks. In case a second treatment is required, a gap of eight weeks is given within first and second treatment. With accutane acne shows continues improvement even after the course of treatment has been completed, although the reason for this is not known presently.

I suggest that you use standard treatments for acne -benzoyl peroxide- and hydroxyquinone for the scars. If it does not res this then you may consider Accutane only on advice from a medical professional.

A topical retinoid like Diferin or topical isotretinoin will help with active acne and scars.
Talk to your doctor about oral antibiotics or an anti-androgen birth control pill. A dermatologist will not prescribe accutane unless you have already tried oral antibiotics for 6 months or antibiotics with an anti-androgen pill for 3 months.
Due to the numerous potential side effects accutane is reserved for severe acne which has not responded to other treatments and from which the patient is at risk of physical or emotional scarring.
