Adderall and Skin Problems..HELP!! Will my ethnicity be changed this summer?

I originally posted this question a year or so ago and well...it has gotten worse
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Dermatology/TAN-WAAYY-TO-EASY-ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN--No-MedsCancer/show/1249076?personal_page_id=1422388#post_5720039

I read this thread and it is 100% exactly what I am experiencing.

Only past meds

Accutane for 6 months 7 years ago and
Adderall (Generic) 20mg x 2 a day

I drove in my car yesterday and it was sunny and nice outside for the first time in a while..I drove about 1 hr and this morning I noticed that my left arm (arm that was in the window / in sunlight) is about 2-3 shades darker than my right (not in direct sunlight). There is also a bad tan line where my shirt was...my skin is a little dry but does not appear overly dry. Last summer people made remarks that I looked hispanic...haha..not that this bothered me, but I can only wonder what I will look like this year if I get out in the sun even a moderate amount.

Is there anything that can slow this down? Is this because of the adderall or the accutane a long time ago? or both? It has been getting worse every year for the last 2-3 years...people joke around about how "gifted" I am to tan so easy and how they are jealous. I'm sure that if they had to put sun screen on their left arm everytime they went outside to drive in their car and how big of a pain in the *** / had sunscreen smell all the time, they would think differently! Any advice would be great appreciated.

i personally do not like to make direct statements that are so definitive [black and white], however the type of skin  a person has and the 'coloring' that it recieves all year round or certain parts of the year is due to the amount of 'melanin' aka pigment, and the rays from UVA/UVB are a corrleation of that, the more 'melanin' [darker] a person's skin is relative to the visual 'hue' 'intensity' 'depth' of the colorization...an albino thusly has less melanin than of an individual from the equadorian equator. The 'type of skin'? is it 'thin' as a result of other disorders, keloids as a result of scarring which are 'thicker' in nature on people that have more 'melanin' in their skin....a good sunscreen should theoritcally be waterproof as much as possible, and apply itr liberally in areas that many forget, the tops of ears, the scalp area [if some baldness] the 'beak of the nose' , protection for the soles of feet are important as well, i am certainly not a dermatologist, however because of my personal experience, and my rotations in school studying different characteristics i am hopeful to help others not what i have done...hhhhaaaa, but what i have learned, also antibiotics are for the most part a big 'nono' and can cause severe skin rxns, along with with steroids hope that this is helpful!!!!

Hello,
It is due to sun tanning due to effect of UVA and UVB rays and the type of skin has no effect on that. When going out in the sun apply a good sunscreen with minimum spf 30 atleast half an hour before going out in the sun. Also wear long sleeved cotton clothes and try avoiding sun in the maximum peak hours like from 9 am to 4pm. Also do not use any tanning beds.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
