After much research I now know

You have what I have and it is not Tinea Veriscolor which is not the bright white small round dots.  It is misdiagnosed all the time.  Tinea is a fugus and can be treated and I was told I had that but it never got better after all of the treatments.  It is caused by tanning in my estimation(quick tanning)tanning beds.  You will find that almost everyone that tans on beds has this and yes some have Tinea but may have both.  I have a little Tinea on my chest which is getting better but I also have Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis on my legs, forearms, chest and upper back, a few on my stomach but it can be all over your body.  Look closely at all parts and you will most likely see more.  Some can be more fait than others.  You can try to trouble shoot by first trying Cortizone in small amounts only to those areas.  I would stop tanning first.  I find that I have to diagnose myself because doctors are not giving me clear answers.  At least now I know what I have.  I was very fair as a kid then got numular dermatitus so used tanning beds to take care of it which it did.  Of course now that I am in my forties the new problem is the bright white dots.  Many doctors believe these were freckels that have lost their pigment which I tend to think is correct. So they used to be a bit darker then lost their cells.

This discussion is related to Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis.
