Akward place for a bug bite???

Roughly 2 weeks ago, I woke up and my penis had what I suspect to be a bug bite near the bottom ridge of my head. It was swollen for 1-2 days, then decreased in swelling, and became a small hard lump....after a week or so, it seems to have spread, and I have a hardness in my vein going directly down from where I suspect the bite occurred.....It still is evident, way more so if my penis is erect, and it is not painful at all, but it is not showing much progress, I can feel pressure inside if I press upon it, but it is not painful...I am curious what kind of advice I can receive from this....Im financially in a tough spot or I would have already had it looked at..thanks

well there is absolutely no redness....there isnt any pain involved, but there is discomfort and pressure felt if i press down directly on the bump. I have no clue what type of bug it could be...I live in Las Vegas area, so there are a lot of options...Tick, spider, scorpion? Is it possible for a tick to get in skin and you not notice it? My amateur diagnosis was that i got bit directly on vein and the swelling caused the vein to be blocked somewhat and constantly full of blood. Thats only thing I can come up with as to why my vein would be hard at all times, i can follow it all the way to my stomach by resting my finger on it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

A rash or spot in the genital area is common and if this is not std related, a visit to your doctor is usually warranted. If it is  bug bite, it is important to identify what insect or bug is the culprit. Are there other signs or symptoms present?

It could just be Fordyce spots which are small bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and  may occur as a solitary lesion. They are painless and not itchy, and are abnormally dilated blood vessels, covered by thickened skin. They may bleed if injured or even during intercourse. They are not infectious and their cause is unknown.

If symptoms persist, it is always best to see a doctor for further evaluation of the lesion and to eliminate other causes. Take care and keep us posted.
