My skin felt dry when I was on vacationVacation health care, and I didn't have my usual stuff, so I went to the drug store. Unfortunately, it did not have my usual Aveeno nightcream (I have EXTREMELY dry skin during the cold months) so I bought a their redness-reducing nightcream. I wore it that night, and the next morning I had red pimples all over my faceFace pain! I do tend to get a few here and there, but they were in places where I'd been completely clearClear by design Clear eyes Clear eyes acr Clear eyes clr Clear-atadine Clear-atadine children's the day before and/or have never had them before. I looked on the box and noticed that it used soy which I recently discovered is something that I am "sensitive" to (I shouldn't eat it). I've been taking Claritan everyday and it seems to be slowly making it better.
I started using hydrocortizone instead because it fits my symtoms (the calamine really didn't), and it seems to be working better, but it isn't going away as quickly as I'd like. I'm going to the dermatologist later this week, but is there anything more I can do until then?
I went to the dermatologist who has instructed me to use mimyx, a cream for eczema (which I have a history of), every other day in addition to my acne medicines. She also told me to stop using the hydrocortizone. My face isn't iching as much anymore, especially on the days when I use mimyx, but the bumps are still going away and it's been almost two weeks!
Also, I went to get my haircut yesterday and it seemed to look slightly worse afterwards. Is it possible that all of the chemicals floating around worsened it even further?
The same thing has just happened to me. I purchased the redness reducing aveeno night cream, and the following night my entire face was covered with a million tiny pimples that I never had before. It has been 5 days since and it's still all over my face! It is itchy, extremely dry and is now on my neck. What finally made your skin get better? I'm going on vacation in a few days and I can't believe this has happened.
This sounds like an allergic reaction most probably.
You should continue with the antihistamine medications and apply calamine lotion at the site of your lesions to help with your symptoms.

It is a good idea to consult a skin specialist about your symptoms especially since they are still present after using calamine and hydrocortizone.
You could continue using both till you see your dermatologist.
