Allergic to waxing?

I get a brazillian wax every month. Last month I had a reaction to it where I started itching, got red and swollen, and had many bumps. I applied cortizone creme to it and it took a week before it went away. This month, the same thing happened. My esthetician and I thought it was the astringent spray that is used afterwards since it contained cystic acid and I do not have acne so I never used acne products - we figured it spray was probably too harsh on my skin. However,  I also got my underarms waxed that day and we did not use the spray but I still had a reaction.

It is very very uncomfortable and irritating. I am thinking that the bumps are from re-growth because I see hair coming back - but normally hair wouldn't come back until at least 3 weeks later - no 1 day.

Can you please help me figure out what is wrong and how I can stop all this itchyness
