Alopecia barbae

Alopecia barbae

Hi ,

I have posted asking about the same issue before on this forum about white skin spots on chin area with hair lost and some white hair growing a little instead. I went to my dermatologist and he diagnosed the sitiuation as alopecia barbae I have been on treatment for one month I cant recall the medicine name am taking but its kind of liquid gell to be spread on the chin and bold area twice a day it has a powerfull smell. The problem am facing currently is that the spots are increasing heavly for the last month instead of having 5 spots now am having almost 11 and that is very annoying. Could Alopecia spread that rapid within one month time or is it something strange to have it spread like that? shall I stop this tratment?
some people told me about traditional treatment of using garlic do u think it is effective?

thanks

Hi,

It is likely that you may be having a fungal infection at the lesion area which is leading to the alopecia and the lesions themselves.

I think the doctor diagnosed this and has given you meds for the same. However, if you think that the lesion has spread you may take another consultation for this.

Perhaps taking a scrap and looking it up under the microscope may help you.

I would recommend taking any home based treatment only under the guidance of a medical practitioner. Hope this helped. Let me know if you may need any more help.

hi
thanks for your reply

the doctor prescribed  dermovate scalp application  to be used twice a day and I have been using it for a month

do u think this medicine he gave added the amount of fungal infection?Shall I stop this treatment till I get another openion?

I have noticed that the alopecia spots came only on the areas I shave in my beard constantly other areas that I dont shave or leave they dont have the same symptoms. is alopecia linked to shaving habits? or to areas where we shave hard and cause rashes or cuts to happen?

I am sorry for asking too many questions but really this thing is so annoying especially that am already bold and with bad beard it doesnt help too much !!

thank u very much again
