Alpha Hydroxy and Beta Hydroxy

What is the difference between alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy, and do you know some examples of brand-name products that contain each?

Alpha-hydroxy products contain the so-called fruit acids (like glycolic.)  They are for hydration and mild exfoliation.  Beta-hydroxy acids include salicylic acid, and are intended more for peeling.  There are many brands of each, and they need no prescription.

Best.
