Anal Itching, Dry itchy legs, vaginal itch

by chris123, Apr 06, 2005 12:00AM
For the past 8 months I have had the same recurring issue: my legs will start to feel very dry and will start itching badly (they are not relieved with lotion), the very top of my anus crack starts to itch very badly, then the itch will spread down in to my anal area and finally my vaginal area gets a light itch. Each time I went to the GYN they would do a pap and say while there was very little yeast present that's probably what it is. So they would give me different forms of difflucin or creams. They would lesson the symptoms for a couple days and it would come back. I have no rashes or bumps that I can seem to find. It will suddenly go away for weeks or months and then come back. It is VERY uncomfortable and going to the GYN has been a waste of time. They have tested for STD's and nothing. I switched to Aveeno body wash and that has not helped. Could this have anything to do with using a waterproof vibrator in the shower? That is the only thing I can seem to correlate this with. What should I do???

Thank you for your help!

I think you should see a dermatologist, for starters.  Lots of people have itchy legs, usually from dry skin, but I can't think of any direct relationship between the leg itch and the symptoms near the anus or vagina.  None of this sounds sexually related, nor can I associate the vibrator with anything expect perhaps the vaginal symptoms.  Meantime, I would moisturize your skin with any lubricating lotion (Lubriderm, etc.), and you might also try an itch lotion containing camphor or menthol.  (No prescription needed.)

I don't think you have anything to worry about; a skin doctor should be able to supply the reassurance and treatment you need.

Best.

I used to have all over body itching arms/legs and stomach/buttocks,with no rash, and it was due to stress...Benadryl might help.I had to go on Paxil though to get it to stop.
