Anal Warts

Anal Warts

I have anal bumps. A biopsy identified they are warts caused by a virus (koilocytosis it says) - sorry it this is obvious... They look like cauliflowers but there´s only two and they do not itch or hurt or produce any secretion. Is there any chance the virus is not HPV? I thought not after googling some stuff, but I´ve heard from a Doctor today that it may be another type of virus or even if it´s HPV it may be a type not related to STDs. By the way, if it´s HPV I have no idea how I got it... The Doctor said he´ll extract the warts and send them for analysis to identify the virus. This is being a nightmare to me due to the quick conclusions people make with this sort of stuff. I´m neither homosexual nor bisexual by the way...

Hello,
Centre for disease control and prevention has said that the virus causing genital warts is passed on through genital contact, most often during vaginal and anal sex. HPV may also be passed on during oral sex, skin to skin and genital-to-genital contact. A person can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sexual contact with an infected person.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
