Anal itch

by dt, Apr 17, 2001 12:00AM
I have had severe anal itching for about 2 years now. It wakes me up at night and bothers me throughout the day.  I have been to several doctors, none of whom have been able to provide a diagnosis, or a cure.  Is this contagious? It is wrecking my life.

Anal itch is common.  Generally, it is not contagious.  Did your doctors prescribe anything?  Usually a combination of cortisone and antifungal creams helps a lot, even if it doesn't permamnently cure the condition.  You certainly don't need to suffer to the extent that you apparently do.

Best.

i have suffered, tho not as bad, as you have with the same problem. i have found that mine is linked to having the candida yeast. i went on a detox program, it cleared up. hope that might help you. you can find alot of info on web by just typing in candida yeast in your favorite search engine. i would caution you to please do alot of research before attempting to treat yourself and if you have any other health conditions or are taking any medications, please work with your dr.
