Anal rash?

I have a rash (circular) around my anus. I is also sore up the crack with a spot that really hurts cuz it's raw. I've been using   baby powder on it but that doesn't seem to be helping. Either my butt crack is very dry or moist and it cracks. I need to know why that is happening, along with the anal "ring" around my anus....I'm on laxatives (for another condition, not related to my butt hole but I do poop a lot. Could this be just from pooping a lot or what? I'm seriously freaking out about this one.....and how do I  get rid of it? I sweat a lot and maybe that has something to do with it, you know, keeping it moist... Thanks in advance for your answers!

I had a similar problem for over a year before i discovered the cause on my own. My dermatologist had settled on eczema, prescribed protopic, and wouldnt listen to anything i said about other causes. on my own, i discovered a mayo clinic article about people developing allergies to chemicals in wet wipes, including adult wipes and baby wipes, complete with pics that were identical to my condition. I attempted to share the article with my dermatologist but he dismissed it and wouldnt even read it. So i stopped using wet wipes completely. My family doctor agreed with my theory and prescribed mometasone steroid cream to help speed up the healing process. after about two months of no wipes and mometasone, my problem was gone. Now if i even touch a baby wipe or adult wipe with my hand, i get a poison ivy-like rash, which is strange because i used both for years with no issues. Apparently, you can develop an allergy to anything at any time. So now I just use Kleenex Hand Towels and water when toilet paper is not enough, and i fired my dermatologist.

hi,
I am a 25 year old man, I have just come across this site searching for answers for a similar problem.

I've had a rash around my butt for approx 3 years and it has been getting worse over the last year.At this stage it is more or less after getting inside the muscle, It tend to be a bit moist and bleeds now and again. It is very itchy, I do try to not to itch but it just gets unbearable at time and I have to. When I do this it bleeds more and just gets worse. When I shower the pain is savage when water hit the area but I have to fight through to keep it clean.

I went to my doctor about it a year and a half ago and she put it down to stress, She told me that this is a common sign of stress and told me to get a cream for it, but I don't get stressed out alot when I went to my doctor as I was getting married and wanted to get rid of it.
There is a history of IBS on my mothers side of the family.
I haven't had a propper dump in ages 9 times out of 10 my poop is soft and wet like a thick watery one. I do feel alot of gas popping in my stomach and could some time have about 4 - 5 dumps a day I also belive that this a factor in urinating going more regulary than normal.

Could you tell me what you think this could be, I am at my wits end with this.

Thank you

Hi,
This could be due to a fungal infection or a skin allergy, eczema. Fungal infection causes itching or a burning sensation in the groin area, thigh skin folds, or anus.
If infected with candidal organisms, the rash tends to be redder and wetter.A warm, damp environment allowing the fungus to cultivate greatly contributes; especially with tight, sweaty or rubbing clothing.
Anti-fungal creams containing tolnaftate, clotrimazole or miconazole have been used, although newer agents such as butenafine are also used.
If it persists then you can apply a mild Cortisosteroid ointment. To cure the infection naturally, keep moist and warm areas of the body clean and dry. You can use talcum powder to help keep the area dry. Powders with menthol or zinc oxide may be used, like Gold Bond medicated powder, to soothe the itch.
