Antibiotics messed my body up. Yeast infection forever?

Ok so last summer I went on antibiotics for acne, about a month into it my groin started itching, badly. Within 4 days my whole groin and scrotum was red, raw, not to mention it was the heat of summer in New York walking around those four days were basically the worst conditions to have a yeast infection.

However I had no idea what it was, did some research and figured out it was a yeast infection so I immediately stopped the antibiotics. I would rather have pimples than a destroyed sack I figured.

It took about a month to clear up, with me eating gallons of yogurt, and rubbing white vinegar and burning the shnaz out of my junk and legs.

After it cleared up I took precautions like  body powder and  loose underwear. Now a year later although not as bad at all my groin isnt the same and now that its getting hot it's itching alot, more than it should.

Before I took those antibiotics my body was in perfect health, always atheletic and no problems. After that yeast infection i got staph, which i never had before, and my nuts itch although not red or anything, I just never had itchy nuts before that.

So my question is. Did those antibiotics totally mess up my bodies system, and will i ever have a normal groin again? And I am also wary about having sex if my groin itches. What do i do?

Thank you for responding, my main concern is I had thought I had gotten it under control after last summer and now that it is hot, my groin is beginning to  itch more often again, although not developing into a full on rash.

So if its just at the itching stage is this something that could be transferred to someone I and having sex with?

Also might be a wierd question, but could it be transferred to someones mouth in oral sex?
Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of Jock itch. Jock itch shows up in post-adolescent men and hormonal changes during puberty, lifestyle and heredity each play a role. Predisposing fungal disease like tines cruris may also aggravate it.

Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

I'm not sure if antibiotics screw you up for LIFE, but in general they're no good..

I've had candida before [which is an overgrowth of yeast in your stomach] and I took Black Walnut Hulls for it. You can find these pills at Whole Foods. You can also buy Acidophillis [the same stuff that's in yogurt] pills and take those on a daily basis to maintain a balance of healthy bacteria in your system.

Otherwise, try not to eat a lot of sugar, that makes yeast grow.

Hope this was helpful!
