Any correlation in symptoms?

by mav01, May 07, 2001 12:00AM
Dear Doc,

I posted a few days earlier, but my question has since changed a bit.  I'll give you the whole run down.  On April 30th, I started working out (lifting & running) again for the first time in many months. The next morning I fell ill with flu.  I had fever and upset stomach.  I also noticed a small red patch of skin 1/4" in dia.  It did not itch or hurt.  I had the flu symptoms with fever coming and going all the way till about the end of friday when it finally let up.  THe red patch also has faded and is nearly gone as off now.  So the flu symptoms lasted roughly 4 days strong.  This past Sunday I now have an itch like jock itch in and around the bottom of my scrotum.  It is also present here this morning.  THere seems to be no rash or skin irritations along with it.  The itch is somewhat bothersome, but not unliveable.  My question is what do you make of it?  Is the flu just in coincidence with this itch and the soar I had earlier?  And what is this itch, just jock itch? and how long will it last? THanks for your answer in advance.

I can't think of any connection with flu.  Your additional information doesn't make this sound any more like herpes than before.  I also can't see any connection with the "jock itch."  the sore comes back, please show a doctor.

Best.
