Appears as an Allergic Reaction

Appears as an Allergic Reaction

About 10 years ago I had an allergy test done.

I had a slight allergy to olive tree pollen, but was given weekly shoots so that it went away.

I have never had any skin, allergy (accept seasonal sneezing), acne problems at all.

Two nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night and was shocked to see about 18 tiny red bumps/dots under my right eye and about 10 under my left eye.  This morning I woke up to a few more and a small spread under my neck and to other random areas on my face.

I haven't been using anything I haven't used before.  But I did start taking the Acai Berry supplement on three consecutive days, and slightly rubbed my neck with a night time baby lotion I use to let me sleep better.

My whole life it hasn't been uncommon for me to use body lotion on my face, leave makeup on for weeks, test out multiple types of face wash when I randomly use it, use scented-anything and never once had a pimple or breakout or anything because of it...

What could it be?
How do I control/monitor it? With medication or avoiding covering the area or not?
Should I seek a doctor or a dermatologist?

Please help :)  I am a student from out of state and need to find a quick solution and prefer not to go to the doctor/derma due to time and figuring out which one my insurance would cover in this state...

Thank you!

Hello,
From the symptoms it sounds like contact dermatitis. Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort.

If the bumps persist then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.
