Are these warts or skin tags?

I have about three dark black growths. They are on the inside upper thing. They are right where the groin area meets the thigh. I had them examined by my doctor & he diagnosed it as skin tags. However I am still worried and need to get a second opinion. Thanking in advance.

Seborrhoeic keratosis are not caused by HPV. You might find this link useful http://www.dermnetnz.org/lesions/seborrhoeic-keratosis.html

Hello,
From the symptoms they can be skin tags or small benign growths like seborrheic keratosis. Keep an eye on it.  If it changes in color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Dear Dr. Attili,

Thank you. They first appeared in May/June 2010. They have not changed since then. I have been bothered by the appearance and also its location (close to groin). So I finally had my physician freeze them on Friday Jan 21. My doctor said that they should fall off in 2 weeks. He has asked me to see him again if it doesn't. Hoping that it falls off and does not reappear.

Is "basal cell papilloma" an std?

Thank you,
Tony

Looks fine. Its is probably either a skin tag or a basal cell papilloma. Benign regardless.

If there is any rapid (6-12 weeks) change in colour of size, then you want it taken off to be sure. But if it hasn't changed, then nothing to worry.
