Assistance Required

On Oct 4 I was with a girl and we had genital contact (she was rubbing on me)but no penetration.  Thre days later I noticed some burning/discomfort on the tip of my penis.  I went to a clinic that Saturday had urine test and was prescribed cipro for seven days.  That monday there was a strong burning sensation on my inner thighs and general groin/pelvic area and my testacles were redder than usual.  I also noticed the burning/discomfort was very strong where my thigh meets my groin in the skin fold.  The burning continued but seemed to lessen.  Fri Oct 16 I went for a shower and noticed a large lump above my testicle in my scrotum.  I immediately went to the clinic.  I was given cerfixime and another pill and ent for urine/ultrasound tests.  That night the burning returned.  The next day I went for my initail follow up appt. and was told I had epidimtutis and to wait and come back next week and the burning was in my head.  The burning isnt in my head I got some antifungal cream and it has seemed to have lessened.  The burning on the tip of  my penis comes and goes and my right testicle, thigh and groin hurt like crazy at times.  What is this and what can I do?  Please help.

My doctor doesnt seem to think this is a fungal infection or std related.  He said that you would see something if it was.  When I apply the antifungal cream the discomfort goes away for awhile.  He precribed emo cort for the itching.  The itching can be quite intense at times.  The burning in the urethra is also present.  This is driving me crazy.  Would balanitis, std, or fungal infection cause irritation on my thighs?  Gonorhea and chlamidia tests were negative and have already been treated is there any other std that can cause these symptoms?  If this is balanitis or fungal how long does it take to cure?  Will the emo cort clear it up?  He prescripbed it for two weeks?  Also should I apply the emo cort to the tip of my penis?  Thanks in advance for your responses

So almost a week later, the testicle pain ect has greatly improved, now jujst an occasional discomfort.  The last two days have been horrible though.  The burning of the urethra comes and goes.  The thigh burning turned to severe itching.  It was on my thighs and groin/thigh area for the first day, then the second it seemed to be more on my lower thighs and calves as well as my waist where my underwear elastic is.  THere is a definite red scaly dry skin where the itching occurs.  The fungal lotion has seemed to help.  I also seem to have some diarhea and a sore throat this week.  I go back to the doctor Saturday or maybe tomorrow depending how bad it is.  I want to get this over with already.

The doctor prescribed muscle relaxants for the pain and they seem to help.  Everything seemed to be getting better then tonight I got fever and upset stomach again.  The burning of the urethra comes and goes.  Tonight my thighs and groin were buring/itching again.  I was hoping to get results before contacting the girl so I could eliminate stds.  I didnt want to unnecessarily worry someone else but that sounds like a good option.  I just want to get this over with its been almost three weeks.  The burning seems worse with heat, and I have been keeping the area dry and clean which seemed to help.  How long does this last?  I dont know what to do anymore.

Perhaps you should get in touch with the girl. If you got it from her, she has it too and may have been diagnosed and cured.

Hello,
Apart from the methods described above, wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels.

I hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have additional queries. Kind regards.

I have been using clotrimazole and it seemed to help.  Should I not be using this?  How long does this last?  It was burning again quite badly today.  I was given 1 week of cipro been off for a week now and meds for gonoreha and chlamidia.  No urine tests back yet.  Still have pain and discomfort in groin worse when sitting.  Burning seems worse in warm or aggitated areas.  It can be really  bad at times,  is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to fungal infection or balanitis or sexually transmitted disease. Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, please don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
