I am fighting a recurring jockJock itch itch on the inner thigh. I am able to hold my own, but wondered if anyone had a formula for an astringent we used to use in the Army for jockJock itch itch. When I was in the service 35 years ago and was in Korea ( ungodly humidity in the summerSummers eve anti-itch) the medics painted our inner thighs with a purple astringent and told us to throw away our underwear for the summerSummers eve anti-itch. Seems like one of the ingredients was potassium permanganate, but not sure and I don't know what else was in it. It really worked to keep the inner thighs and scroal area dried out. Any help would be appreciated.
You can use talcum powder to help keep the area dry. Powders with menthol or zinc oxide may be used, like Gold Bond medicated powder, to soothe the itch.
Avoid the transmission of the fungus to other parts of the body when drying. You can use anti-dandruff shampoos on the infected skin as many contain anti-fungal chemical compounds such as pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, and ketoconazole (Nizoral).
Tea tree oil can also be used since it is a natural anti-fungal.'

'To cure Jock itch naturally, keep moist and warm areas of the body clean and dry. Change anything the fungus comes into contact with daily, like undergarments and towels.
