At a loss and in a panic

I have had continuous rashes on my hands and feet.  Itchy, blistering bumps for the most part, that I rub until they blister, then the skin peels off.  It is the only way to relieve the incessant itching.  At one point, it was all over the top of my foot (this was in September, it is now December 30!)  My foot became infected and swollen.  I went to the ER and they said I had scabies.  I went to my dr. and he prescribed a scabies treatment, which I used two times, a week apart.  Although symptoms subsided just slightly, the bumps and itching continued to occur, though my foot swelling went down.  There was also intense "invisible" type itching in my feet...an itch that could not be scratched so to speak, where I would rub my feet on the carpet in frantic desperation to stop the itch, that seemed "internal?"  I now have scars on my feet from the healed scabs, and now I have another eruption on the majority of my left thumb.  Once it begins to heal, I rub it again, it blisters again right on top of the previously healing lesion, and it all peels off again.  Today, I have a few new type of bumps on the palm of my left hand, similar to one I had on the tip of my finger, whereas it is another itchy bump, but it blisters differently, with liquid filled center, and when popped it stings like crazy and a circle of red encompasses it and it swells circularly around the popped blister.  It looks like there is a hole in my skin in these areas, and they are VERY tender.  The nape of my neck is slightly itchy but now I think I am just driving myself crazy!  I had eczema as a baby behind my ears, and have dry skin in the winter, but other than that, no other serious issues.  Stage 0 breast cancer with a lumpectomy a year and a half ago, and a hysterectomy and lumpectomy 2 weeks apart a year ago October.  Could I have picked something up in the hospital and been carrying it around all of this time?  I have had this intermittent rashes for a VERY long time, but for the past 3-4 months, it is incessant, and getting me very frustrated and depressed.  Three weeks before I can see my dermatologist.  On the list in case of a cancelletion.  Any ideas what this could BE?

Three weeks is a long time to go when you're going crazy in the meantime a general doctor would most likely be willing to prescribe you a strong cortizone cream and maybe an antihystimine to take.  Like Deafsinger suggested defenatly cut out any possiple allergians, and pay attention to what you eat (it doesn't have to be anything new).   Obviously anything unscentend is good, my doctor recommends Dove and Lubriderm.  While it Eczema usually goes away while you are younger it can definately flare up later and drive you crazy (in my experience Lubriderm is not actually good for eczema, contrary to the doctor, I suggest straight vasiline).  I suggest cold compacts in the meantime.  As far as the rash can you see anything under the skin?  Is it oozing?  Good Luck.

This sounds like some type of an allergic reaction to me.
Go ahead & begin to eliminate things that could be chemical irritants such as detergents you wash your clothes in & dryer sheets.
I use only  unscented , no dye detergents for clothes & dryer sheets with no scent.
For body soap I can only tolerate Tone soap.
Eliminate any lotions or creams, especially if they contain Lanolin or any type of animal fats.

I had breakouts similar to what you are describing & it was from Multiple food allergies . skin contact allergies & inhalant allergies. Also , certain meds will cause this type of breakout. as will food dyes , especially yellow dye & red dye.

Try some plain  ALOE to soothe the areas that sting & itch . No dyes, no additives, just plain 100% aloe.

Good Luck to you
