Athlete's foot becomes Eczema HELP!!

I've had my first outbreak of Eczema at 32 years old (Male) and it started out as athlete's foot and now is diagnosed by my doctor as Eczema. It was on my toes for four months and last week it started on my ankle, noe I'm getting little bumps on my hands. I've been on burrow's solution, oral terbinafine tablets, anti-histamines and a foot cream for the eczema. It's very slowly getting better but winter is coming and I soon won't be able to open shoes for the cold.

What would cause this? I never get sick and now my feet look scaly and nasty. It's slowly getting better, but I'm afraid of what will happen when I get off the medication. I'm really scared.

I'm constantly walking so my heart rate 55bpm but my blood pressure is 148/96 after walking to the doctors office and up four flights of stairs.

Please help!

The dermatologist said that it was nothing serious and that many people have this problem.

I was wondering...

1. Is this autoeczematic or do I now have Eczema for life. A friend said that it's something you're born with that never goes away and will keep coming back.

2. When the sun hits my feet they become yellow and crusted, The crust comes off easily. Should I stay out of the sun or wear socks, or is this helping me shed the old useless skin.

Thanks,

Hello,
Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
