Balanitis help please

I have a rash on the head and just under the head of my penis. I have seen a dermatologist and a urologist about it and they both said that it was balanitis and prescribed me a fungal cream (ertaczo) and a hydrocortizone cream steroid. The dermatologist said he thought it might never get better (please tell me this is not true) and the urologist said it should take about 4-6 weeks) I keep ruining treatment by either having sex or masturbating after a week or so, but every time the creams work for about a week and then the rash starts to look better but it gets even more sensitive and the head gets very red (even without sex or masturbation). I've had this for almost 4 months and its driving me crazy. am i doing something wrong? is there something i should be doing? someone please help me

it may or it may not ever go away! Nobody knows why balanitis gets to you- poor hygiene, yeast/bacteria imbalance, there are many reasons. There are examples of people who meticulously followed Doctor's advice, maintained absolute hygiene, and they got rid of Balanitis. Circumcision is other option you can think about but then there are examples wherein people with circumcised penis have suffered from balanitis. There are different kinds of balanitis- so get yourself checked-and find out what kind of balanits you are suffering from- only this will decide the correct steroid to use. Good luck
