Balanitis or something else?

Balanitis or something else?

I have tried this on Urology, and got some support, so here goes.  I am a 45 year old un-circumcised male, married over 18 years. Never engage in any risky sexual behavior, consider myself to be pretty hygenic, typical germophobe.  Over the last 5 years, I have been dealing with recurring bouts of what I am told is Balanitis.  Now after research, it would seem Balanitis is a pretty general description covering a lot of different possibilities.  Could be irritation from soaps, allergy, bacterial, fungal, etc...  Over those years I have tried Diflucan, or Fluconazole, Nystatin, Clotrimazole.  Warm salt baths, etc.. and so on and so forth.  None of these things seem to have much effect.  It takes over a month to clear up.  My cultures from my penis come back generally negative for yeast, and bacterial, and the last two times, without me knowing, my GP did culture for Herpes, which also came back negative.  This is hugely frustrating to me, and it is very painful, and depressing. I have made no sudden changes in diet when this occurs, and I have not been on any medications.  So what gives if for 40 years of my life I have had not one outbreak, but in the last 5 years I have had it every single year.  No particular time of year. I posted a pic under my user name, irritated2, I have never seen another pic quite like it anywhere, the closest I came was a yeast infection on a medical website.  Still not exactly like it though.  I do not have what I consider to be a sugary diet, never drink soda, never use it in my coffee. I recently began eating organic yogurt everyday, take a pro-biotic, eliminated flour & yeast products.  My GP keeps telling me I may have to get circumcised, but I can't figure out how that will resolve the underlying problem, it's like telling someone with a runny nose to have their nose cut off instead of figuring out what is causing it.  I think Drs nowadays don't want or can't invest the time necessary to investigate & analyze a problem, just cut it off.  I don't want to do that, I am more concerned about the potential underlying issue that may have developed in the last 5 years that causes this.  Anyone else that has a similar experience, please let me know.  Thank you all in advance.
