Hair loss suggests that an underlying skin condition may be present. On the faceFace pain, we have to consider the presence of a fungal infection or seborrheic dermatitis. If redness or scaling is present, then a fungal infection may be considered. In some cases, this may be a disorder of the hair follicles. How large is this bald spot? Apply 0.05% Fluocinonide cream on the affected area and see if this improves. Apply thinly twice daily for 3 days. Do not prolong use if there seems to be no improvement or if the area appears red or itchy. This may not be something serious. If the affected area increases in size, then have this assessed by your doctor. A skin biopsy may offer a definite diagnosis.
