hi its alopecia areata only its not due to stress , its a fungus that starts feeding  on the hair follicle, a very easy remedy is to take salt n lime n rub it into the affected area for several minutes untill your skin burns repeat the procedure several times a day for about 3to4 days,, it hurts like crazy but try to kill the fungus thats several layers underneath th skin only after th funguf is dead will the hair grow back!! you dont need cortisone coz it really doesnt help!!
i had 19 patches on my head n by the grace of GOD  am cured!! please do try this its the only cure!! you have nothing to loose.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This bald spot can be due to tinea capitis. It is contagious and can spread direct contact with someone who has the condition, or if you touch contaminated items such as combs, hats, clothing, or similar surfaces. Diagnosis is by clinical examination of the scalp as well as a skin lesion biopsy with microscopic examination. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist. The other differential can be male pattern baldness which can be due to other medical causes. It is difficult to confirm a diagnosis without examination, so please get it done.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.

I am going through the same thing right now, except I have a bald spot the size of your fist, and another one the size of a quarter, I go to a dermatologist and get shots in my head, I've gotten a total of like 25 shots and now i look like alphelfa because my hair is growing in!

If it is  localised patch of hairloss with out scaling most likely to be Alopecia areata.Responds in many, to local cortisone.Do meet your derm.
