Best remedy for scar on forehead?

Hi -- about a week ago I tripped into a door frame and got a gash/wound on my forehead. I've used Neosporin daily, and the wound itself has healed relatively quickly. But there's still a fairly prominent scar that I'm nervous will be permanent. It's about an inch long, and vertical.

What is the best remedy for this? I've read various things about Cocoa Butter, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, or some combination thereof. I've also read that Vitamin E can make things worse.

Also, if a prescription would be best, getting an appointment with a dermatologist would not be a problem. Thanks for your help.
