Big red rash on inner thigh

by woahthere, Sep 10, 2006 12:00AM
For about six weeks I've had a rash on my inner thigh spreading from the crease of my groin (see pic)

It feels quite normal and doesn't itch.

I am overweight and do sweat quite a bit in that area so I am trying as much as I can to wear loose clothes and give it as much air as possible but its not going away.

An ideas?

It looks like tinea cruris ("jock itch"-- a fungus infection.)  I suggest you pick up some over-the-counter 1% clotrimazole cream and apply it twice a day.  If that doesn't clear you up in 2 weeks, show the rash to your doctor.

Best.
