beneath a normal looking toenail. I did not injure
my toe in any way, but I do have numbness and a part of the tip of the toe I can't feel any sensation at all. I read that this may be a sign of malignant
melanoma, although rare in occurrence. I am concerned because when I was growing up from the age of 16 on, I used to work in a tanning salon and used to spend hours (actually) at a time in the tanning bed. I still tan at the age of 45, but not nearly as frequently. I have also lost a great deal of weight (over 20 pounds) in the last 3 months or so without dieting
. Would this increase my chances of getting melanoma although I am naturally dark (Italian heritage)? What tests would you suggest I have to determine if this is melanoma? What are your recommendations?
, then it may need to be drained. I would suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist.
