Black Spot on Head(Glans) of Penis

Hello, for quite some time now I have had a black spot on the head of my penis and I can't quite pin point where it came from. I am not circumcised and the spot does not itch or hurt and it does not pop out its just a spot or a little black patch per say. At first I really didn't pay any attention to it since I do have a lot of moles so i thought that it could be a mole but I was getting curious and decided to do a little research on it. To my surprise I find that it could end up being penile melanoma. At this point I am really really scared and am panicking since reading up on penile melanoma it didn't sound so good. I really need to know what I am dealing with here and if it is penile melanoma as it could change my life dramatically. :( Thank you very much for any advise on this matter.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be a freckle or a lentigo apart from penile melanoma which may present with similar features. It is only after a biopsy that we can confirm what it is. Treatment will depend on the confirmation of diagnosis. So my sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and get a biopsy done. Penile melanoma is very rare and if the diagnosis is confirmed then depending on the stage og the malignancy, surgical removal, radiation therapy and chemotherapy can be used. You cannot remove lentigo at home. Cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen and laser are the main treatment modalities. Although there are many skin creams like hydroquinone and salicylic acid, but their use needs prescription .I would recommend a dermatologist’s consultation for this.
