Blister on Ear Lobe?
My boyfriend developed this blister on his ear today. It started as a red bump that we thought was going to turn into a pimple, but now it is clear and blister like. He says it doesn't hurt or itch. Not sure what it is or if we should leave it alone or get it lanced.

The blister popped itself and started oozing the clear fluid. I guess problem solved? Still curious what might cause something like that to randomly happen.
Also: He is late 40s, had a random blister similar to this, but much larger on his ankle 6 or 7 years ago, but no other occurrences along these lines.

From the symptoms, it can be contact dermatitis, allergic reaction, insect bite or a small cyst. Keep the area clean and apply some warm compresses and topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics.
Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. Also if the pimples start spreading then impetigo which may present with similar symptoms needs to be ruled out. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
