Blood Blister... thing... on my bottom lip.

by daneleif, Mar 22, 2009 08:12PM
Okay.. I've had this blood blister "thing" on the bottom of my lip for about 5 years now... and frankly, I'm tired of it. The reason i say "thing" is because it doesn't act like  the normal blood blister I've ever heard of. If i sleep on my stomach it will get bigger and if i squeeze it the blood will all go away for about 5 minutes then slowly work it's way back. It doesnt hurt and never bleeds because it's too deep under the skin. What should I do? thanks.

Hi,

A blood blister is a type of blister that forms when subdermal tissues and blood vessels are damaged without piercing the skin. It consists of a pool of lymph, blood and other bodily fluids trapped beneath the skin.  If it has been this long, have this evaluated by your doctor to rule out other skin conditions. Refrain from irritating the affected area.

Take care and keep us posted.
