Body Rash

Body Rash

My friend has a rash on most of her body and the people at the hospital have no idea what it is and sent her home. The rash covers her abdomen and most of her back. It is on her arms but not all the way down to her wrist and on her legs but not all the way down to her ankles. The are roundish and bumpy. Though they are not red. They are itchy and raised. She has no know allergies. She has not started any new Medication or been in a new environment to my knowledge. She has a baby and is worried that it could be contagious. It would be a real help if someone could give some suggestions. I cannot afford to ask the doctors here, but I trust that the forums have smart people. Please does anyone know anything?

Hello,
Did the itchy rash start in her pregnancy as it can then be a pregnancy associated rash.  The other possibilities are of hives or erythema multiforme. Take some Benadryl and apply some calamine lotion on the skin. I would also suggest a dermatologist’s evaluation and biopsy of the lesion to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
