Boils Following Hair Transplant Surgery

Boils Following Hair Transplant Surgery

About 2 months following hair transplant surgery I began to get terrible boils on my head. I presently take 500 mg of ciprofloxacin 2x per day and apply hot towels fresh from the kettle -- recommended the doctor who performed the procedure employed by a well-known chain. As a youth, I never experienced these sort of issues. I read where these will end at some point when a hair growing stage is complete. I do have needles courtesy of the doctor for popping purposes which often results in a minor bloody mess. Please provide your thoughts, prognosis and possible alternative measures to take to make this less painful both physically & aesthetically.

There is no reason for you to be getting boils like those after transplant surgery.  There is even less reason for you to be popping them yourself with needles.  I strongly advise you to stop needling the boils and to get another opinion from either a different transplant surgeon or a dermatologist about how to evaluate and treat this.

Take care.
