Broken blood vessel?

by periwinkle, Aug 05, 2000 12:00AM
For about 5 years, I had a little red dot on my skin next to my nose. For about the last year it has gotten bigger and appears to have something under the skin. It doesn't look like a pimple. I thought it was a broken blood vessel until it started to appear to slighly raised. Any idea what it is an what would a Dermatologist to with it?

Maggie:

Sounds like a superficial blood vessel (not really "broken," though often referred to as such.)  Can be cauterized or lasered off, if you want.
