Broken in the Underarm Area

by Jcito7, Aug 31, 2005 12:00AM
What would happen if you put deodorant on broken or irritated skin?  I ask this question because everytime I use deodorant, I feel like my under arms are burning. It irritates me alot.  I have checked myself and it seems that I have broken skin and bumps or stretch marks.  In the right under arm, I have a skin fold.  I have tried various deodorants.  Clinique, Almay, Dove, Mitchum, Dry Idea, Right Guard.  I also tried ones for sensitive skin.  They all irritate me.

I also think I leave behind a weird aroma.  It's very embarrassing.  I go to the supermarket and people don't want to stand by me.  They make remarks like: "Oh my God!"; "What's that smell?"; "It stinks!"; "Someone needs to take a bath!"

Could this smell carry? One time I used Dove for Sensitive Skin.  And everywhere you go it seemed to smell like trees or some burnt odor, like popcorn.  I asked my neice to smell me. She said I smelled like trees.

Another time I used Adidas because of it killing bacteria technology.  People around me would say "Wo! Something smells strong!"

This condition is making depressed.  I don't know if it because of the irritation or of Bad Odor

I haven't been to the doctor.  How should I present this to my doctor?  Please any help would be greatly appreciated.  I know this sounds weird or funny but I am being truthful.

Deodorant can make broken skin burn or feel irritated, but it doesn't cause any damage.  You just need to experiment until you find one that doesn't bother you.  Also, if your skin is broken or irritated, you ought to find out why and how to make it heal.

I don't know what to make of your odor question.  You'll need to ask a doctor to assess the smell.  In my experience, even people with severe sweating problems don't complain of passers-by commenting on their odor....

Best.
