Brown Bruise/Birthmark

by GAMomofTwo, Apr 13, 2008 09:22PM
My son started weight training a couple of weeks ago. I picked him up one day and it looked like he had two irritations in the same place on either arm. Both are located about an inch away from the crook in his arm on the lower portion. At first they were red and I thought maybe he had an allergic reaction to the weight bars, but they haven't gone away in  about 2-3weeks. They are no longer red, but they really look like brown birthmarks. The one on his right arm is larger, maybe a little bigger than a quarter. The one on his left arm is about the size of a nickel and I noticed a really small spot almost to his wrist. Again, if I was to describe it I would call in a birth mark, but since he's 14 I don't think it can appear after 14 years. Should I be concerned or look for other changes?

This discussion is related to Bruise or something more serious?.

Hi,

This could be from an allergic reaction. You have to observe that whether this is at the site of contact of the weights or any wrist band or any other substance.

This could also be due to the sweat accumulation or heat rash at the time of the exercise training.

It would help to get the lesions examined by a drmatologist and then decide about the further management plan.

Let us know what the doctor advises and post us if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
