Brown Patches

I'm 25, female. 2 months ago i have eczema on my face (mostly chin and cheeks) so i was prescribed with Hydrocort. And after 2 weeks of using it, the rashes did not go away, and i found 2 brown patches under my eyes (they are not dark circles, they look like light bruises, and cover the areas from my under eye-both eyes, towards ear).

So i went to see another dermatologist and was prescribed with another cream. This time my rashes cleared up. But the brown patches remain. Had tried lightening cream, and many other products and home remedies but none works.

Can i know what are the brown patches? How can i remove them?

Hello,
These can be due to melasma or hyperpigmentation skin. Treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi there,
After eczema is successfully treated, a few people may be left with brownish discoloration. Also there can be a flare-up again in the future. You should keep your skin well hydrated with emollients to try to reduce the chance of future flare-up. You may try few remedies but it is best to consult a dermatologist before starting to use any. Application of vitamin C compress increases skin cell turnover, which helps slough away discolored skin, while supporting new skin cells in developing. Olive oil massages may help to some extent. These brown scars will take time to go. Consult your dermatologist and clarify your doubts.
Best wishes and regards!
