I had/sorta still have the exact same thing. My spots/dirty hands were the result of being in the sun for an extended period of time without any sunscreen on. Apparently the harmful rays enter your skin making the protective melanin (tan to protect skin) that your skin produces go crazy and distribute unevenly. These spots can happen all over your body, but our hands are typically the most exposed to the sun. Some people are posting comments that it is the result of citrus exposure which can be a contributing factor since citrus attracts the sun. Hope this helps, don't freak out. If you want to make them go away faster try scrubs or I tried "Anew Clinical luminosity pro, brightening serum" by Avon cheap and appears to work. Also, avoid darkening them by using sunscreen everyday. Mine are fading very well, but this is after almost a month.
Dear Berg0031,
This sounds exactly like what has just appeared on both of my hands (starting between my thumb and index finger and going up to my fingernail and look like light brown ink blotches). I looked up solar lentigenes, but it says that you dont usually get that until about 40 years old and I am only 27. I do live in California and get sun exposure, but not excessively I dont think. Please let me know if you ended up finding out any more info before I freak out. Thanks
Hi,
Just yestersday I was examining the spots on my hands and noticed a small circular spot on the top of my right hand. It looks like scar tissue with a slight tint to it. Yesterday it was smooth, today it has a tiny crack in it. Im assuming it might have something to do with sun exposure also??
Hello,
Without examination it is very difficult to confirm anything but it can be solar lentigenes.it is a small, pigmented flat or slightly raised spot. These lesions are flat, tan, brown, or dark brown spots on sun-exposed skin. They occur most often on the backs of the hands, on the forearms, shoulder, face, and forehead, areas of highest sun exposure. You can apply alpha hydroxyl acid creams or Retin-a creams on the spots and also apply sun screen half an hour before going out in the sun. Also try keeping the sun exposed areas covered with clothes. If the symptoms still persist then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist and discuss the options of chemical peeling or laser treatment with them.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Kind regards.
