Brown skin discoloration

I'm a 27 year old white male and I've recently noticed at the tip of my index finger has been a brown skin discoloration. It appears to be under the top layers of skin, is an abnormal shape (about 1/8" x 1/16" in size), brownish color but not quite as dark as a mole, does not feel hard under the skin, and seems to have gotten larger and darker over the last month and a half. There is no pain but I'm concerned it could be something serious. Any suggestions to what it might be? Everything I've looked at as far as conditions aren't accurate as to describing what it might be.
